Equestrian Program Volunteers
August 10, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pmFree
For many campers, Camp Korey’s equestrian program is the highlight of the week. Some have never ridden a horse before—or thought it impossible due to physical constraints. Through the encouragement of a full support team, campers gain confidence from challenging themselves. They’re all smiles as they ride by!
Help prepare Camp Korey’s equestrian program during summer camp as well as side-walk with participants to make sure campers are as safe as possible when riding horses. Assist with teaching campers about horses and horse care. Experience preferred but not required. Must be comfortable around horses and able to take directions well. Dinner or lunch is included!
Application, background check, and orientation required. Volunteers must be at least 19 years old.
Camp Korey empowers children and families living with serious medical conditions, through year-round life changing experiences, always free of charge. Our residential summer camp is the prescription for joy, growth, and healing. Campers go on an adventure that helps them disconnect from the stress and isolation of their medical condition, and plug into all the magic of Camp! Campers leave Camp Korey with increased self-esteem, confidence and resiliency.
