Welcome back to Camp! This spring, we invite volunteers to apply for virtual and onsite programming. Join us as a volunteer in 2021 to experience the magic of Camp Korey with our family pods – get ready for plenty of fun as Adventure Abounds!
Safety First! Camp Korey’s COVID-19 Commitment
The Camp Korey Medical Team continues to monitor both state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19. The safety of our community is our #1 priority. Keeping Camp safe will require your commitment to safety measures such as always wearing your mask (except of course when eating yummy Camp food!), social distancing, participating in proactive health screenings, and following our sanitization/cleaning protocols before, during, and after each program.
Please note that if required, we may have to move to virtual-only programs out of care for everyone’s safety. If this happens, you will be the first to know of any changes at least three weeks prior!
Spring Family Weekends Schedule
March 26-28, 2021 Solid Organ Transplant/Cardiology Family Weekend (In-Person Program with Socially Distanced Family Pods – 8 total families)
April 16-18, 2021 Neurofibromatosis Family Weekend (Virtual “Out of the Box” Program)
May 14-16, 2021 Turner Syndrome Family Weekend (Virtual “Out of the Box” Program)
May 21-23, 2021 Sickle Cell Disease Family Weekend (TBD)
Spring Volunteer Roles
Each family will be assigned a Family Pal that will support them throughout their weekend at camp. Your job is to build a relationship with the whole family, and make sure they have what they need to have an enjoyable time! *Please note, In-Person Family Pals will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test within a certain timeframe before the Family Weekend (the test is provided to you by camp and will be sent to you to complete and send for results).
Each camper enrolled in virtual programming will be sent a box that will include everything they need to participate in Camp Korey virtual programs. You will be working alongside Camp Korey staff to compile the camp boxes that we will mail to each camper.

On-site volunteers will also be supporting the Camp Korey staff both in the background and in front of the camera for programming.
We also ask for any virtual support you can help us with (i.e. managing chat, cheers, dances, etc).
Virtual programs will be offered alongside in person 2021 programming. The role of a Media Editing volunteer may look differently based on the video that needs to be edited, but this individual should have basic knowledge of video editing, audio editing, and access to editing software.
The role of a transcript volunteer is to transcribe audio to create closed captioning on Camp Korey’s virtual programming videos. Our videos are homemade, and it is essential for us to add closed captioning to provide videos that are accessible to all viewers.
