It’s been a busy winter at Camp Korey as our team preps for all the crazy fun of family weekends and SUMMER CAMP! If you don’t believe me, check out this Countdown Timer. CRAZY!
We have been hard at work here at camp. Here is a SNEAK PEEK for what you can expect to see over the next few months:
Amazing Executive Chef Kim!
Chef Kim has a long relationship with Camp Korey as a supporter of our programs for the last five years. Not only is she an auspicious chef, but, her expeditious kitchen produces such delicious and nutritious food. Not only does she make amazing dishes (sometimes even with fishes), she and her husband make amazing decorations for every theme. Above is a picture of Kim holding a homemade robot for a space themed weekend. Three cheers for Kim!
Arts and Crafts Makeover
Shawna, Camp Korey’s Program Coordinator, has been hard at work reorganizing our arts and crafts to create a Maker Space. The main goal is to give children full access to all of the supplies they need to get creative. Now our campers can easily access all that we have to offer and develop their own ideas while in Arts and Crafts this summer.
Teen Teen Lounge and Performing Arts Space
Welcome to the new and improved 3-Car Garage space! Teams of volunteers and staff have spent hours in here taking out the old and filling it with new, as well as sprucing up the color scheme with an exciting combination of purple and gray. We hope it reflects a hip new space for all our amazing teens to hang out in. The 3-Car Garage will also splitting time with Performing Arts. Expect to see an awesome new rug and curtain to help put our budding performers at ease.
ADA Accessible Ramp in the Sports Barn
This ramp is a beast! Our facilities team has been hard at work constructing this important new ramp to accommodate a second entrance into our historic barn. With the addition of this ramp and entrance, we hope to hold even bigger All-Camp events down in the sports barn. Imagine dances, hoe-downs, carnivals… you name it, our sports barn can house it. Construction is expected to be completed before summer!
