Welcome back to Camp! This summer, we invite volunteers to apply for various camp experiences. Join us as a medical onsite volunteer, as an event volunteer, and/or at our Family Day Adventures in Summer 2021 to experience the Camp Korey magic with our family pods – get ready for plenty of fun as Adventure Abounds!

Safety First! Camp Korey’s COVID-19 Commitment

The Camp Korey Medical Team continues to monitor both state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19. The safety of our community is our #1 priority. Keeping Camp safe will require your commitment to safety measures such as always wearing your mask (except of course when eating yummy Camp food!), social distancing, participating in proactive health screenings, and following our sanitization/cleaning protocols before, during, and after each program.

Please note that if required, we may have to move to virtual-only programs out of care for everyone’s safety. If this happens, you will be the first to know of any changes at least three weeks prior!

Summer Volunteer Opportunities

Summer Family Pal

Residential summer camp programming in 2021 will offer a Family Centered Model for our in-person programs. Each family will be assigned a Family Pal to support them throughout their week at camp. Your job is to build a relationship with the whole family, and make sure they have what they need to have an enjoyable time! For this position, our volunteers are required to have a medical license (RN, MD, ARNP or LPN). *Please note, In-Person Family Pals will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test within a certain timeframe before the Family Weekend (the test is provided to you by camp and will be sent to you to complete and send for results).

Family Day Adventure Pal (In-person – Various Locations)

Our Family Day Adventure Pals play a vital role in the overall success of programming at Camp Korey. In the summer of 2021 Camp Korey will be offering supplemental day programs. Families/Campers will sign up for an individual event run with the help of volunteers and safe partner programs. The role of a Family Day Adventure Pal may look differently based on the specific needs of the event they are attending.

Staff Support – Weekend Events

Assist our Staff Support Coordinator in the implementation of fun and enriching weekend events for our seasonal staff. This could be offering up resources you have available to you, sharing hobbies, or teaching a new skill. Feel free to reach out if you have something to offer our staff.

Adopt A Staff Volunteer

Camp Korey is seeking to match a volunteer with each staff member this summer. You will be paired with a staff member and have access to their personal likes and needs. Throughout the summer we ask that you send at least 1 care package to your adopted staff member and multiple notes or messages of support and encouragement. This is a fantastic way to let our staff know just how appreciated and needed they are.

Staff Support Food and/or Supply Delivery

Food Delivery: Seasonal staff will not be allowed to explore and experience the local culture of Skagit County and beyond. Be willing to coordinate ordering, pick-up and delivery of a meal from a local restaurant for all camp staff during their weekend time off. (You will not be required to cover the food cost.)

Supplies Delivery: This role will coordinate with our Staff Support Coordinator to be the “Click List” shopper for our seasonal staff.  (You will not be required to cover costs of these supplies.)

Kitchen Volunteer

Kitchen volunteers support the Chef with food prep, meal setup, and dishwashing and general cleanup to keep everyone fueled for fun! You can volunteer for a full session or multiple days throughout the summer.

If you cannot find the link, go to the Forms tab near the top and find the form “VOLUNTEER: 2021 New/Returning Volunteer Application.” This is the first step of the application process and once submitted, you will receive a follow-up e-mail with the next steps of the process.
