Teen Retreat – Feb 6, 2016
That’s right! You don’t have to wait until next summer to enjoy camp again. Camp Korey is having a special teen-only event on February 6th, 2016. This will be a day where our teen campers get to come to camp, socialize, make new friends, and take part in some fun (and maybe challenging) activities. Whether it’s making it to the top of the rock wall, being creative in Arts & Crafts, or participating in team-building activities, you’ll be able to experience the magic of camp with your peers!
For more information and to register for this event, visit our calendar.
Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. So hurry and sign up!
Building Leaders Out of Camp Korey (BLOCK) Program
Formally known as the Leader-in-Training (LIT) program, Camp Korey is excited to announce our new BLOCK Program! This program is open to 16 and 17 year olds who have been campers before, and are now looking to take the next step in their camp experience and be role models for others.
BLOCK participants will each join us for one session during the summer (either session 2, 4, 6, or 8). They will hold a camper leadership position and will be matched to a cabin of younger campers where they’ll have many of the same responsibilities as Cabin Counselors. BLOCK participants will also be given the chance to lead certain program areas. In addition, they will participate in fun workshops each day that focus on developing skills as leaders.
If you’re 16, you have the choice between applying to the BLOCK Program and applying to be a traditional camper. And don’t worry, if you’re 16 and spots are filled up for the BLOCK program, you’ll still be considered to come as a traditional camper instead.
And as if this program wasn’t already awesome enough, BLOCK participants will have the opportunity to attend special events throughout the year just for them!
For more information and to apply, visit our BLOCK program page.
You heard it, folks. Camp Korey is creating our very own Teen Lounge! We’ve been busy converting the 3-Car Garage into a hangout and program space for teen campers. Imagine your very own area on camp where you’ll be able to take part in programs designed specifically for you and your peers. The Lounge will have your own pool table, musical instruments, stage area, and more!
Phew! Well that’s about it for this blog post. As you can see, we have plenty of amazing opportunities coming up for teen campers and we hope you join us for them!
