Camp experiences Year-Round

2022 Camper Experiences

Camp happens everywhere and all the time. Our year-round program activities at Camp Korey are modified to accommodate campers and families of all abilities so everyone can join the fun! Here’s a look at all the experiences that happened in 2022. Every experience is entirely free of charge for families thanks to support from our generous donors, grantors, and sponsors.

Summer Camp

235

Campers and their families spent five days and four nights exploring camp activities together. They get to try new things, make friends, and build connections with other families. Each camp session includes archery, arts and crafts, equestrian, campfire, stage night, Silly-O, fishing and boating, outdoor exploration, pool parties, cabin chat, and entries into the Book of Firsts.

Family Weekends

247

Campers and their families spent three days and two nights exploring new ideas, having fun together, and participating in all of the activities available at camp. Supportive services and community-building activities for children and families include cabin chat, parent coffee hour, stage night, and campfire.

Family Adventures

429

Campers and their families experienced community events including “A Day with the Bellingham Bells,” Mariners Terrace Club Seats throughout the season, a special auditory performance of Hamilton at the Seattle Theatre, and adaptive biking and skiing adventures.

Camp to You Outreach

720

Camp to You activity kits were delivered to campers during their inpatient stays at our partner hospitals! While in-person activities were curtailed due to COVID-19, we’re excited to bring back one-on-one inpatient room visits, hospital playroom activities, and condition-based sessions for children and families next year!

Building Leaders Out of Camp Korey

56

Our BLOCK program empowers teens ages 15-17 to develop social, emotional, and practical life skills through participation in leadership activities designed specifically for their developmental stage.

Warm Fuzzy Ice Skating

36

Campers and their families spent an afternoon of adaptive ice skating – many for the first time! – as well as brought home gifts thanks to our partnership with Hasbro.

Warm Fuzzy Gift Giving

464

Staff and volunteers wrapped and delivered gifts of Hasbro toys to our hospital partners to bring joy to campers during the holiday season.
